Since 2000 Polson Environmental has been actively involved in Environmental Site Assessment and wildlife studies.  We have helped clients make informed decisions regarding their assessment needs and necessary documentation for their lending institutions.


Polson Environmental offers services in Phase I Environmental Site Assessment and wildlife appraisal and inventory. We use the latest technologies and scientific methods as well as a common sense approach to ensure both accurate and reliable results.

John Polson, BAg, MSc., Wildlife Biologist, Remote Sensing Specialist

Mr. Polson graduated from U.B.C. through the Department of Agriculture in Wildlife & Range Management.  He earned his Masters degree at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon.  John has worked as a biologist in British Columbia, Saskatchewan and the North West Territories on a wide variety of species.  Using his experience as a biologist and skills as a remote sensing specialist he has been involved in numerous large and small Environmental Assessments, he has been particularly adept at developing practical plans to minimize human impact on wildlife populations and creating sustainable mitigation measures when conflicts could not be avoided.  Both John and Alverta donate a considerable amount of time and effort to wildlife rescue in Saskatoon and surrounding areas each year.

Alverta Polson, BPhysEd, University of Nebraska

Alverta as co-owner of Polson Environmental participates by managing finances and is invaluable as an editor of reports.    Alverta graduated from the University of Nebraska in  Lincon, Nebraska with a PhysEd degree.  She supervised elementary PhysEd at DeKalb, Ilinois and eventually moved to Canada. She has been involved in refugee settlement, managed a large book sale for many years through the Canadian Federation of University Women in Saskatoon, served on various committees and has been an active wildlife rescue volunteer for many years.

Eileen has been with Polson Environmental since 2021 when she began volunteering with wildlife rescue. Having completed her B.A in Psychology at Carleton University in Ottawa, ON (2017); Eileen began her BSc. in Environmental Biology at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon after falling in love with wildlife work. She completed her AESAC Phase I Environmental Assessment Course in the spring of 2022 and started working as a Site Assessor for Polson Environmental. Since joining Polson Environmental she has worked on the assessment of over 100 commercial/industrial properties across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and New Brunswick.
